Wilmington & Western Railroad: Easter Steam in the Red Clay Valley-April 10, 2022
Thanks for the video. A lot of hard work went into this engine by a lot of people. Whistle is of Georgia Railway origins, slightly shorter than an N&W hooter. It is possible that 58 had already encountered this whistle in revenue service, as the Georgia Railway and the AB&C were in close proximity to each other.
Thank you for the history on the whistle and the support!
Why was steam train 98 in the shop still
If 425 comes back from her 1472 FRA Day Inspection and Boiler, she could do a third doubleheader by leading 2102 this time, maybe one day from Reading to Tunkhannock!
Sounds like N&W 1218
Love the night shot with 58 and the fireworks.
Did w&w 58 have a n&w hooter whistle
Great catches awesome chase and nice video
Great catches awesome chase and nice video harry
What kind of whistle does 58 have
Happy fourth of july and happy independence day
Great footage!
Thank you Varun!
Great video Harry, from the opening at the station (And they REALLY should have some staffers keeping people away from the tracks!) to the closing with the fireworks! And I love that hooter whistle, it's almost like 58's saying "I wanna be an N&W Class A when I grow up!" 🤣 No matter, 58 put on a great show! Thanks for bringing us along Harry, and hope you had a great Fourth!
Thank you Wayne! This was a great chase and fireworks show, always a great annual tradition
I love the fireworks at the end! They made a great background. Happy Belated Independence Day 2024!
Thank you! The fireworks were the best part of this chase
Awesome video!!
Thank you!
What whistle was 58 wearing?
Excellent job Harry! Glad we got see ya for this chase!
Thank you Ashton! Glad to see you out and about on this chase too!
Was 58 wearing a hooter?
It was indeed a hooter
Great footage!
Awesome!
Please support an acquisition of the Shamokin Valley RR by the Reading and Northern.
When did you hear that?
@@brianfalzon6739The RN has been trying for years It had actually been taken to Northumberland County Court I'm sure anyone can go in an read the minutes
Little little little! Everybody calls 26 "little!" Over 29,000lbs of tractive effort! 50 inch drive wheels! Nothing to sneeze at, for sure! Bullard #2 is little. I would argue 26 is on the larger side for an 0-6-0. Not the largest, but comparatively speaking, bigger than little! lol Anyway, great footage as usual!
26 isn’t small. 26 is averaged size with a great personality.
Epic
I don’t want to be called crazy but this looks oddly familiar
Happy 10 years of your RUclips channel! 🎉
Thank you!
@@EastPennRailfanProductions You're very welcome! And I hope you have a wonderful summer this year!
Fantastic shots.
i have a locomotive.
Thank you!
I NEVER get tired of that sound! :)))
Great selections here. Sorry I only saw you for like 2 seconds lmao
Thank you! No worries, it was great seeing you out there.
Almost as good as being there! Thanks so much Harry! I've GOT to get up there one day! PS: Did you see that guy in the paraglider? I wonder what kind of shots he got? 🤣
Thank you Wayne! I highly recommend any trip to see this locomotive in action. The guy on the motorized paraglider was in a lot of guys shots from what I've been able to find so far. Looks like he enjoyed chasing the train up the Susie Q!
Excellent footage of the Reading & Northern 4-8-4 #2102's tour! It looks cool!
Thank you! It was a really fun chase
Great catches awesome chase and nice video
Thank you!
Great vidoe harraeh I was there too, just in spirit tho
All your shots are amazing! That shot at Mountain Top is prolly my fav from the day. It was fun doing the chase with you and the others! I look forward to next time!
Thank you Jack! It was fun chasing with you. You'll have to join us again!
Would Reading & Northern 425 and Reading 2102 doublehead in steamtown.
A fast eight minutes Harry! Not only did I find the trains interesting but also that old PRR signal bridge with the position light signals still on it. I'm assuming in this PTC (or similar) age they're not functional anymore? Thanks for posting!
Thank you Wayne! The signal bridge is still operational with all four signals for the four track territory here. Thank you for your continued support!
@@EastPennRailfanProductions You're welcome Harry! And thanks for the reply concerning that PRR signal bridge! It's good to hear it's still in service, once those old signals are gone it'll truly be the end of an era.
Bye Corey
Bye Corey
Yoooo I seen that
I've lived in Delaware my whole life and had no ides they had a Doodlebug
It looks emaculate with its yellow handrails but I must say the black really gives it a throw back look to the days when she pulled freight. Gives it more of a rugged look, love it!
Babe wake up new East Penn Railfan video dropped!
Good film 😄
Cool to see lots of different freight trains on that busy rail line, all pulled by Norfolk Southern units. Great footage!
Thank you! The Harrisburg Line gets a lot of neat action
Hi! I heard NS 28X East while I was inside at Weis store in Macungie PA I was in the back of the store I forget What aisle number was it I think It's aisle 4 or 5? Not sure but I heard him at 1:49 PM
That was a nicely put together video. Especially like 19g approaching. Great video.
Thank you! It was great filming with you
@@EastPennRailfanProductions Thank you i had a good time also. I got one yesterday that surprised me. The National Transportation Safety Board Unit.
Happy Easter from our family to yours
Great catches and awesome video
Awesome, Congrats.
Looks close to the NHN paint scheme.
THE WOODYTOWN!
Nicely done Harry! That GP38 looks good in that Reading-inspired paint scheme. In fact, the PRSL's original paint scheme on their first diesels (Baldwins) was a Reading green. However later they went to basic black which is what that GP38 would have worn in its PRSL days. I wonder what the story is on that old RS-1 seen at the 5:00 mark? Considering what they're capable of it wouldn't surprise me if SMS is considering a restoration on it. And don't you HATE the electronic bells on some of those grade crossings? Yuck! Thanks for posting!
The RS-1 is privately owned SMS can't restore it
@@mlpderick Well, I guess that's that. Thanks for the response!
Thank you for your continued support Wayne! As mentioned previously by someone else, the RS-1 at Mannington is privately owned, and was built in December 1948 as Washington Terminal 59. It ran on the Tioga Central for a while before being acquired by the now somewhat defunct Southern Railroad Company of New Jersey. Apparently in the 2000s the locomotive suffered a cab fire, set by vandals while in storage in Salem, NJ.
@@EastPennRailfanProductions It's always a pleasure when you post Harry! Keep up the good work and thanks for the background on that RS-1. It'll probably never be restored at this point unless it's sold to someone with the wherewithal to make it happen. Aside from that I see a future date with the scrapper after being used as a parts donor. Too bad.
Apparently this was the last time it ever wore the freight livery, and it soon stayed with the passenger livery.
